About Us
Established in 2015, Saint Michael Eritrean Orthodox Tewaḥdo Church in Western Australia serves the Eritrean Orthodox Tewaḥdo community in WA. We are dedicated to faith, worship, spiritual integrity, and community support, rooted in the ancient Orthodox Christian tradition.
Our History
Saint Michael Eritrean Orthodox Tewaḥdo Church was established to serve the spiritual needs of the growing Eritrean community in Western Australia. Founded as a registered religious organization, the church provides essential spiritual services, pastoral care, and community support while preserving the Orthodox Tewaḥdo faith and heritage.
Our Mission
Saint Michael Eritrean Orthodox Tewaḥdo Church in Western Australia Inc. is dedicated to promoting worship and services according to the faith, doctrine, and canon law of the Orthodox Tewaḥdo Church.
As an association, we provide a spiritual home and organizational support to maintain Orthodox traditions and worship. We offer religious education, social gatherings, and moral and pastoral support for the benefit of our members and the wider community in Western Australia.
Our Ecclesiastical Position
Saint Michael Eritrean Orthodox Tewaḥdo Church in Western Australia stands in fidelity to the canonical Orthodox tradition of the Eritrean Orthodox Tewaḥdo Church.
In matters of ecclesiastical integrity and conscience, we openly recognize His Holiness Patriarch Abune Antonios as the rightful and legitimate Patriarch of the Eritrean Orthodox Tewaḥdo Church. We affirm that his unjust deposition and prolonged confinement, resulting from his refusal to accept state interference in church affairs, stand as a testimony to faithfulness, humility, and moral courage.
Saint Michael Eritrean Orthodox Tewaḥdo Church in Western Australia functions within the ecclesiastical framework of the Eritrean Orthodox Tewaḥdo Sub-Diocese of Australia and New Zealand, through which pastoral coordination and spiritual administration are exercised in the region.
As a church community, we do not accept or support actions that compromise the spiritual independence of the Church or depart from Orthodox canonical order. Guided by prayer, peace, and humility, we remain committed to Orthodox unity, truth, and the faithful transmission of the Tewaḥdo tradition.
